Development of predicting technology for tower foundation specifications using geophysical exploration 물리탐사를 활용한 철탑 기초 제원 예측 기술 개발

Abstract

Due to recent climate change, the standard wind pressure factors for steel tower design have been revised, necessitating a re-evaluation of the stability of tower foundations, which serve as structural supports. However, such stability assessments have been hindered by the lack of foundation specification data for approximately 1,500 existing towers in South Korea. To facilitate the development of cost-effective reinforcement plans, it is essential to determine the foundation specifications. In this study, impact-echo and electrical resistivity survey methods were applied to accurately identify the foundation specifications. Portable devices equipped with geophysical exploration capabilities and a foundation specification estimation algorithm were developed and validated on towers with known specifications. Validation results indicated that the impact-echo method is highly effective in estimating foundation depth, whereas the electrical resistivity method is more accurate for determining the width and thickness of the foundation footing rather than its depth. Furthermore, the proposed method was applied to towers with unknown foundation specifications. The results presented in this study are expected to contribute not only to the planning of maintenance and reinforcement for tower foundations but also to broader applications in identifying specifications of underground structures.

최근 기후변화로 인해 철탑 설계 시 고려되는 풍압력의 기준속도압이 수정됨에 따라, 철탑이 무너지지 않도록 지지대 역할을 하는 송전 철탑 기초에 대한 안정성 평가가 필요하게 되었다. 그러나, 국내 기설 철탑 1,500여기의 기초 제원이 존재하지 않아 안정성 평가가 불가하여 이에 대한 경제적인 보강계획 수립을 위해 기초 제원 확보가 필요하였다. 본 연구에서는 철탑 기초의 제원 정보를 정확하게 파악하기 위해 충격반향기법과 전기비저항 탐사기법을 적용하였다. 물리탐사기능과 철탑 기초 제원 분석 알고리즘이 탑재된 휴대용 장비를 개발하여 제원을 알고 있는 철탑 기초에서 정확도를 확인하였다. 철탑 기초 제원 예측 검증 결과 충격반향기법은 깊이를 정확하게 예측하였고, 전기비저항 탐사 기법은 깊이보다는 기초 저판의 너비와 두께를 더 정확하게 예측하는 것으로 나타났다. 또한, 현장 적용을 통해 제원이 확보되지 않은 철탑에 대해 기초 제원 탐사를 수행하여 형상을 추정하였다. 본 연구에서 제시된 탐사 결과는 철탑 기초의 보수 ‧ 보강 계획 수립뿐만 아니라, 지중 토목 구조물의 제원을 파악하는데 널리 활용될 수 있을 것으로 판단된다.
