Analysis on the effect of strength improvement and water barrier by tunnel grouting reinforcement

Abstract

Recently concern for subsea tunnels is increasing. The effect of high water pressure can not be ignored in the case of a deep subsea tunnel. Reinforcement like grouting is necessary for the stability of such a subsea tunnel. In this study, therefore, it was investigated how the water barrier and shear strength increment resulted from grouting had an effect on the stability of a subsea tunnel. To this end, two-dimensional hydro-mechanical coupled analyses were performed for a sensitivity analysis in terms of different range, permeability coefficient, and cohesion of grouting reinforcement for the rock classes I, III, and V with respect to RMR system. The mutual relationship between strength increment and water pressure increased by barrier effect due to grouting was investigated by analyzing the numerical results.

최근 국내에는 해저터널에 대한 관심이 높아지고 있다. 심부에 시공되는 해저터널의 경우에는 높은 수압의 영향을 무시할 수 없다. 이러한 해저터널의 안정성을 위하여 그라우팅보강 등이 필요하다. 따라서 본 연구는 해저터널의 시공 시 그라우팅으로 인해 발생하는 차수효과와 전단강도 증가효과가 터널의 안정성에 미치는 영향을 살펴보았다. 이를 위해 RMR 분류법을 기준으로 할 때 1, 3, 5 등급 암반을 대상으로 그라우팅 보강영역의 범위와 투수계수 및 점착력을 달리하여 민감도 분석을 위한 2차원 수리-역학적 연계해석을 수행하였다. 해석결과의 분석을 통해 해저터널의 그라우팅으로 인한 강도증가와 차수로 인해 증가되는 수압의 상호관계를 조사하였다.
