Proposal of a BIM construction method for visualizing axial behavior of rock bolts

Abstract

In order to prevent damage caused by tunnel collapse, reinforcing materials such as rock bolts are embedded to enhance tunnel stability. However, there is a problem in that reinforcing materials like rock bolts are embedded internally, making it impossible to visually check their current condition. Therefore, this study proposes a method to visually assess the condition of embedded rock bolts and enable status evaluation. To achieve this, a 3D model of the tunnel and rock bolts was created using building information model (BIM), and subsequently, information about the rock bolts and the attached sensor data were integrated into the BIM using Dynamo. This integration is expected to enable continuous monitoring of the rock bolt condition and the early identification of potential risks through status evaluation. Additionally, this approach is anticipated to enhance sustainability through monitoring the condition of structural reinforcements in various infrastructure structures.

터널 붕괴로 인한 피해를 예방하기 위해 록 볼트와 같은 보강재를 매립하여 터널의 안정성을 향상시킨다. 그러나 록 볼트와 같은 보강재는 내부에 매립되어 있다는 특성으로 인해 현재 상태를 육안으로 확인할 수 없다는 문제가 존재한다. 이에 본 연구는 매립된 록 볼트의 상태를 시각적으로 파악하고, 상태 평가를 가능하게 하는 방안을 제안한다. 이를 위해 건물 정보 모델(building information model, BIM)을 활용하여 터널과 록 볼트의 3D 모델을 생성하였고, 이후 Dynamo를 이용해 록 볼트의 정보와 부착된 센서로부터 측정된 데이터를 BIM에 통합하였다. 이러한 통합은 록 볼트의 상태를 지속적으로 모니터링하고 상태 평가를 통한 잠재적 위험을 조기에 식별할 수 있을 것으로 예상한다.
